The Boathouse Palm Beach

This is the first of 3 Boathouses in Sydney (excluding The Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay, which has a different owner). This one is the inaugural one. There is also a second in Balmoral (see our review here) and a third one will follow soon at Shelly Beach (previously Le Kiosk). To say the Palm Beach one is the best would be like a mother choosing their favourite child. In other words, you might have one, but you would never agree! However, there is something about sitting on the deck watching the seaplanes take off that makes this one stand out.

On one of my visits here though we did have to wait ages for one of our dishes. We are pretty sure they had forgotten about it, as it was a bit cold. Generally though, you can’t go wrong. They don’t take any reservations, so there is a usually a queue for food and a table, so if you are with friends it is best if one of you queues for food whilst the other waits for a table. Both queues usually move quite quickly. And despite how busy they always are, the staff are always friendly and helpful. One tip: it can get really hot on the deck, so try to get a table in the shade if you can. The water views, signature fish and chips, great coffee and BYO wine (they provide ice buckets) come as standard.
