Campbelltown

Koshigaya Park is the place to be this New Year’s Eve for a night of non-stop entertainment from 7pm till Midnight.

Bring your picnic rug and chairs and sit back and enjoy the atmosphere with a massive line-up of talented bands, carnival rides, free facepainting, showbags, food stalls and incredible fireworks display at 9pm and Midnight.

Whether you are looking for family-friendly fun or carnival entertainment with friends, there’s something for everyone this New Year’s Eve. Entry to this event is free, however, there is a cost for rides and food.

Coogee Sparkles

At 9pm, a 15-minute fireworks display will entertain the audience from the north end of Coogee Beach, near Dunningham Reserve. Tips for Coogee Sparkles:

  • This event is popular, so arrive early to secure a spot.
  • Parking is very limited. Please walk, cycle or use public transport or ride share services
  • Glass, smoking and alcohol are banned on Coogee Beach and surrounding reserves.

CBD

It would be remiss of us not to mention Sydney world-famous fireworks in the city and from the Harbour Bridge! They are enjoyed by over 425 million people across the globe, after all.

The celebrations start at 7.30pm with a Smoking Cermony, followed by pylon projections and lighting effects, Welcome to Country, the family 9pm fireworks and of course, the main ones at midnight.

Those who want to watch the festivities from home, you can tune into ABC TV and ABC iview from 8:30pm, with hosts Charlie Pickering and Zan Rowe.

 

Illuminate

Welcome in the New Year at Fairfield City’s annual Illuminate New Year’s Eve event. Celebrate with a picnic under the stars on Fairfield Showground.

Join them for a magical night filled with entertainment, free rides, roving acts, and food trucks as they countdown to a spectacular fireworks finale at 9:30pm.

Meadowbank

City of Ryde Council welcomes you to join them at Meadowbank Park for family-friendly fireworks at 9pm. Set up a picnic on the ample grass or run around in our regional playground as City of Ryde brings in the New Year. Bring your own picnic or purchase takeaway from one of the many local restaurants and enjoy the fireworks spectacular!

The Newport

Get ready for a cracking New Year’s Eve, Newport-style. They’ve got DJs from 12pm and Barney Cools DJs hitting the decks from 8pm until late for an epic set overlooking Pittwater Harbour. There are also two fireworks shows – a family-friendly 9pm session, and another at midnight.

Entry is free all afternoon, with a $25 cover charge starting from 6pm. Bookings aren’t required, but we highly recommend them for larger groups and anyone hoping to score the best seats in the house.

Northern Beaches

Some councils aren’t doing any NYE fireworks this year (cough cough, Gerges River and the shire), but Northern Beaches Council is hosting several free family-friendly sites for the community to enjoy the festivities – some with great water views. Fireworks will light up the night skies for approximately 10-12 minutes at the following locations:

  • Frenchs Forest – 9pm, Lionel Watts Reserve, Blackbutts Road
  • Dee Why – 9pm, Ted Jackson Reserve, Dee Why Beach
  • Bayview – 9pm, Winnererremy Bay, Mona St, Mona Vale
  • Manly – 9pm, East & West Esplanade, Manly Cove
  • Bayview – Midnight, Winnererremy Bay, Mona St, Mona Vale 

Families are encouraged to bring their own picnic or purchase takeaway from one of the many local restaurants and enjoy the fireworks spectacular!

Parramatta

Farewell 2023 in Parramatta Park with a free concert headlined by ARIA award-winning band Sneaky Sound System, a fantastic line-up of family-friendly activities, and a spectacular firework display.

The whole family will be entertained on Coronation Hill with the hands on science precinct, as well as garden games and a music and bubble play area. Get ready for an evening filled with music, laughter and fun.

Liverpool City Council is bringing back its epic New Years Eve celebration for one amazing night. This iconic event will feature the very best entertainment for families to ring in the New Year. From carnival rides to live performances and fireworks – Liverpool’s New Years Eve celebration is the place to be on 31 December!

Wollongong

Planning on celebrating the end of 2023 in style at the Wollongong Harbour? This New Year’s Eve is set to be a memorable one with fireworks, music, entertainment, food trucks along the Wollongong Harbour as well as a carnival in Lang Park.

It’s a free event, but you may wish to bring money to spend at the Carnival in Lang Park or to purchase something to eat or drink. The event will kick off from 5pm and there will be music, roving performers along the Wollongong Harbour.

The fireworks will start at 9pm and will light up the night sky over the Harbour. There will be a number of good vantage points along Wollongong Harbour, especially along Cliff Road and Marine Drive.
