Cafe Sydney

There seems to be a new, hot, trendy restaurant opening in Sydney every week these days (which is great), but sometimes the classics are the best. Cafe Sydney is one of those classics, having stood the test of time for the last 16 years. I was lucky enough to dine there last Friday, for my boyfriend’s birthday. We could not have wished for a better restaurant on a sunnier day in Sydney. The restaurant has the trifecta in my book: stunning views of the harbour (image above is case in point), delicious food and outstanding service. The price is the icing on the cake. It’s not cheap, but in my book, the value is outstanding! I highly recommend the dessert platter to share between 2 or more people. On this occasion, we were given the top 3 desserts to share. And if enjoy liquid desserts, the Salted Caramel Martini is as good as it sounds! There is just one small problem with Cafe Sydney, and unfortunately it is beyond the restaurant’s control. The best views of course are on the balcony, but if you request a table there and it rains, they say they cannot guarantee a table inside for you. Luckily, we did not have to worry about this issue, as there was not a single cloud in the sky. I have no doubt though, that the staff would go out of their way to accommodate you if necessary.
