On Wednesday night, I went to Crown Street Fish Shop for $1 dumplings! We were hoping they would have several options, but as it is a fish shop, they just had prawn dumplings – they were pretty good though. This obviously wasn’t going to fill us up, so my partner & I also ordered the Grilled Platter for 2, with bugs, scallops, prawns, fish, calamari, chips and salad. I thought this was good value for $58, especially when you consider that just fish & chips will often cost $30 in Sydney. Other mains cost approximately $16-27, so definitely cheaper than your usual Surry Hills restaurant.
They also sell burgers from just $10, have a kids menu and a couple of meat dishes if one of you doesn’t fancy fish. I should warn you that there is no table service, but the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. As well as $1 Prawn Dumplings on Wednesdays, they also have $1 Natural Oysters on Monday nights, and on Tuesdays, kids eat for free!
Oh, and most importantly, they only use sustainable Australian fresh fish! That is worth shouting about!
