Hartsyard

This was my second visit to Hartsyard and it certainly didn’t disappoint! On both visits, we were going to see Bernard Fanning perform afterwards, so we had an early sitting at 5.45pm on a Thursday evening. Despite just opening 15 minutes earlier, they were already busy, and by 6.30pm, they were packed! It’s not surprisingly really, the service and the food is so goooood. I only had one complaint really: too many excellent options. It was just myself and my partner dining, so there are only so many dishes you can order – we ordered the recommended 3 to share, plus dessert (see photo above).  Ordering just 4 dishes (we also had the Duck Nuts – ok, but a little disappointing, Pulled Pork and the Poutine – the latter is a must) meant we had serious food envy over other dishes floating past us to other customers, especially the Fried Chicken and Hush Puppies. Next time. And yes, the dessert (Peanut Butter + Banana Sundae with Pretzel ice-cream, banana doughnut and salted fudge sauce) is as good as it looks. Better actually. If I had to sum it up in just four words, I would say ‘seriously good dude food’. A tip: make sure you book. Oh, and perhaps book an extra gym session in for the next day. Perhaps tow if you have the sundae. This is heart-attack central! But, oh so worth it!
