Woolwich Pier Hotel

The Woolwich Pier Hotel has to be the perfect local’s pub! I only wish I was a local, so I could enjoy it more often. Having said that, the ferry to Woolwich is a great way to travel there. It seems I am not alone in my thinking…it was recently voted The Best Pub in NSW 2014 by The Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food Guide. A tip: if you go on a Sunday, get there early if you want one of their famous roasts. They sell out early, as I found out to my dismay – though the steak made up for it. The desserts are great too. Normally I would take the photo of my dessert before eating it, but as you can see I simply could not resist digging in this time! It tasted as good as it looks by the way! The cocktail jugs are also good value – you can just see the remnants of one in this photo. And the lawn/pavillion area out the back is perfect for families and celebrations (you can hire various areas).
