A Culinary Escape by the Hawkesbury River: Cottage Point Inn Review

Cottage Point Inn

Nestled on the picturesque Hawkesbury River, just north of Sydney, Cottage Point Inn is not just a restaurant; it’s a culinary destination. Just before Christmas, myself and my family had the pleasure of indulging our taste buds at this hidden gem. And I’ve been wanting to shout it from the rooftops ever since.

We didn’t have anyone who could look after our 5 year old, so we took him along too. We thought we’d need to resort to his tablet, but to be honest, he was a trooper! Mind you the local wildlife (a goanna, lots of fish and a couple of kookaburras) kept him entertained. Plus, they made him a special Fish & Chips, which he wolfed down.

Arrive at Cottge point inn by seaplane

And if the destination wasn’t enough, the best way to get to Cottage Point Inn is by seaplane! They take off from Rose Bay and 20 minutes later you will find yourself 35km north of Sydney, a thousand miles from care.

You can also drive here if you have a designated driver, though we wouldn’t recommend it at night, as the road isn’t well-lit and it’s pretty bumpy through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.

In a nutshell, Cottage Point Inn is a culinary journey you don’t want to miss. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just craving an escape from the ordinary, this riverside haven delivers on all fronts. A word of advice: book early. This hidden gem is no longer Sydney’s best-kept secret, and rightly so!
