The first thing that struck me about Nomad is how similar to Ester it is. And that can only be a good thing. The owners and chefs may disagree, but for me the inner-city, trendy, urban location, warehouse style restaurant and food were all quite similar. The main difference in my opinion is that Nomad is much larger than Ester. Not as obvious, but Nomad also sell all of the wines on their menu online and will deliver to your home, anywhere in Australia. Similar to my recent experience at Ester, last night my friends and I chose to share Chef’s 8-course menu. Unlike Ester, we did not really have much choice in the menu, but luckily all of the dishes the chef had chosen that day were exactly what I would have chosen anyway. With one exception. The exception being BBQ Cauliflower with Almond Tarator and Manchego. As my family and friends know, I am not a fan of Cauliflower. However, this one was pretty good! I even went back for seconds! Oh, and if you are wondering, the image is of the Goat Cheese Churros with Truffled Honey. As soon as I had my first bite, I said I wanted to go for just a plate of these. Wonder if they do take away?
